How to get the Arkansas voter file.

Arkansas isn't pre-loaded on Motion51, so you request your district's voter file from the state and we load it in. Here's exactly where to get it, what it costs, how long it takes, and the rules — in plain English.

The short version.

The Arkansas voter registration file is a public record you request from the state elections office. You pay a fee, sign a use affidavit, and get the list of registered voters for your district — names, addresses, and registration details. Then you hand it to Motion51 and we load it, geocode it, and cut your turf.

Arkansas has one of the cheapest voter files anywhere: $2.50 for the combined voter-registration plus vote-history file. It's a mail-in paper process -- there's no online portal -- with payment by check or money order to the Secretary of State.

What it costs.

$2.50 per file. Three file options: (1) VR — Voter Registration file, (2) Vote History file, (3) VRVH — combined Voter Registration + Vote History. Total to obtain everything: $2.50 for the combined VRVH (or $5.00 if ordering VR and Vote History separately). Check or money order only — payable to Arkansas Secretary of State.

Tip — you may only need one county. At $2.50 for the entire state, there's no cost reason to narrow by county -- just buy the combined statewide file and filter to your district after you load it.

How to request it, step by step.

  1. Complete the Secretary of State's Voter Registration Data Request form (Sections A and B).
  2. Choose your file: registration only, vote history only, or the combined VRVH file -- the combined file is $2.50.
  3. Affirm your noncommercial purpose on the form.
  4. Mail the form with a check or money order (payable to Arkansas Secretary of State) to the Elections Division at the Victory Building in Little Rock.
  5. After payment clears, the file is delivered by email or on CD (pickup), typically within 5-10 business days.

How long it takes.

Typically 5–10 business days after payment is received and cleared. Email delivery faster than CD pickup once processed.

Use restrictions — read before you order.

Use restricted to non-commercial purposes. List may NOT be used to harass voters or their households, or to advertise, solicit, sell, or market products or services to voters. List may NOT be posted on the internet except for purposes authorized under state law. Requester must affirm purpose of use on the Data Request Form (Section B).

Costs, forms, and rules change between cycles. Always confirm the current details on the official Arkansas page linked above before you send payment. This page is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.

How long does it take?

Typically 5-10 business days after payment clears; email delivery is faster than CD pickup.

Do I have to load the file into Motion51 myself?

No -- send us the Arkansas file and we load it, geocode it, and build your turf.

Once you have the file, Motion51 takes it from there.

Getting the file is the errand. The campaign is what happens next: loading tens of thousands of addresses, putting them on a map, cutting them into walkable turf, and tracking every door. That's what Motion51 does.

Send us the file the state gives you and we load it in, geocode the addresses, and set up your district so volunteers can start knocking. The app works offline for the stretches where cell coverage drops, and every door is logged with a timestamp.
