Privacy Policy
Motion51 builds field tools for political campaigns in Florida. This policy covers what we collect on our marketing website at motion51.com — not the canvassing application that authorized campaigns and volunteers sign in to. The application has its own internal data practices governed by separate agreements with each campaign that uses it.
Who we are
Motion51 is operated by Jason Becher in Florida. For privacy questions or to exercise any of the rights described below, email jason@motion51.com.
What we collect on this website
When you visit motion51.com, two categories of information are collected:
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Railway) records each page request with your IP address, user-agent string (browser and operating system), the page you visited, the page that referred you, and a timestamp. This is the same information any web server records by default.
- Email contact. If you click “Request more info” and send us an email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use this only to respond to you.
The marketing site does not use cookies for advertising or tracking.
The only cookie this domain may set is a session cookie if you sign in to the
canvassing application at /login; that cookie exists solely to keep you
signed in and is unrelated to this marketing page.
How we use it
- To respond to inquiries you send us by email.
- To understand how the marketing site is being used (page views, referrers).
- To investigate abuse, security incidents, or technical errors.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertising networks.
Who we share it with
To operate the site we rely on a small number of service providers, each of which has its own privacy practices:
- Railway hosts our application and its server logs (United States).
- Google Workspace / Gmail receives forwarded email sent to addresses at the motion51.com domain.
- GoDaddy manages the domain registration and DNS forwarding.
We share your information with these providers only to the extent necessary for them to provide their service to us. We do not sell your information to data brokers, advertisers, or any third party.
How long we keep it
- Server logs are retained for up to 30 days, then routinely purged by Railway as part of normal log rotation.
- Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to maintain the conversation, plus a reasonable period for record-keeping. You can ask us to delete prior emails at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under California's CCPA, Florida's Digital Bill of Rights, the EU's GDPR, and other comparable laws), you may have rights including:
- The right to know what personal information we have about you.
- The right to access and request a copy of that information.
- The right to delete your information.
- The right to correct information that is inaccurate.
- The right to opt out of sale — though we do not sell personal information in the first place.
To exercise any of these rights, email jason@motion51.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and at no cost. We do not discriminate against people who exercise these rights.
Children's privacy
The Motion51 marketing site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please email us and we will delete it.
About the Florida voter file
The campaign application that Motion51 builds (separate from this marketing site) works with Florida voter registration data. That data is not collected, processed, or stored as part of this marketing website. Voter data lives only inside the authenticated application, behind a login, and is governed by separate agreements with each campaign that uses Motion51.
International visitors
The motion51.com website is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States, which may have different privacy protections than your home country. By using the site, you consent to that transfer.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be reflected with reasonable advance notice where practical.
