How to get the Multnomah County voter file
Request it from the office below, send us the file, and you're ready to cut turf. Running countywide or in just part of Multnomah County? This is the office either way.
- Where to request it
- Multnomah County Elections Division(503) 988-VOTE / (503) 988-8683 | elections@multco.us | 1040 SE Morrison St., Portland OR 97214 | Director of Elections: Tim Scott (since 2008; OACC president 2024-2025)
- Cost
- Same OAR 165-002-0020 fee schedule as the state: $25 setup + $0.025 per 100 records, with a $5.00 minimum on per-voter order fees. A full-county order (~558K voters) is therefore ~$25 + $1.40 = ~$26-30 range. Custom selections (multiple slices, special sorts) may add staff time. Payment: cash, check, or credit/debit card; must clear before delivery.
- How to request
- Submit a Records Request through the Multnomah County Public Records Center portal: pick 'Elections Division' as the department, log in or create an account, choose 'Voter List' under Record Type, specify the slice (whole county / precinct / district / etc.) and whether to include vote history. Paper data order forms also available on request. After the order is processed, Elections sends an invoice with cost + payment instructions (cash, check, or credit/debit). List released after payment clears. Multnomah only provides voter lists scoped to Multnomah County voters - statewide must go to SOS.
- Turnaround
- Varies by complexity - simple county / precinct lists typically 3-10 business days after invoice payment. Counties are bound by the same SOS standards but generally faster than the 10-business-day statewide queue for smaller cuts.
- Use restrictions
- Same ORS 247.955 commercial-use prohibition; sign use affirmation. Multnomah will only release lists scoped to its own voters.
Costs and rules change — confirm the current details with the office before you order. Once you have the file, we handle loading it, cutting turf, and getting your volunteers knocking.
