Pulaski County had an estimated 401,209 residents in July 2024, the most populous of Arkansas's 75 counties, up 0.5% since the 2020 census. Of those, 309,227 are 18 or older, the voting-age population, and 17.6% are 65 or older. Its 187,930 active registered voters equal about 60.8% of that voting-age population.
It covers 758 square miles of land (529 people per square mile), and 11.8% of residents live outside any incorporated city or town. The largest cities and towns are Little Rock (204,774), North Little Rock (64,498), Sherwood (33,281), Jacksonville (29,129) and Maumelle (19,541). The American Community Survey (2020-2024) puts it at a median age of 37.6, a median household income of $62,873, 37.9% of adults 25 and older holding a bachelor's degree or higher and 57.0% of occupied homes owned by the people living in them.
In 2024, 153,924 votes were cast for president, about 49.8% of the voting-age population; the Democratic ticket took 59.8% and the Republican ticket 37.7%. The two-party margin moved from D+11.6 in 2008 to D+22.1 in 2024.
