How to get the Ada County voter file
Request it from the office below, send us the file, and you're ready to cut turf. Running countywide or in just part of Ada County? This is the office either way.
- Where to request it
- Ada County Elections Office (under the County Clerk)elections@adacounty.id.gov | (208) 287-6860 | Elections Office: 400 N. Benjamin Lane, Suite 100, Boise, ID 83704 | County Clerk: Trent Tripple — (208) 287-6879 / 200 W. Front St., Boise, ID 83702
- Cost
- 'Actual cost' only per Idaho Code 34-437 — typically nominal duplication + staff time. A fee will be required if a USB is necessary to fulfill the request due to file size. Additional fee may apply if the request exceeds the labor and resources allowed by law (Idaho Code 74-102(10) caps free labor at 2 hours, then allows hourly billing). Expect a small fee in the $5–$50 range for an Ada-County-scoped extract. No published flat schedule — Election Office will quote on receipt of request.
- How to request
- Submit a public records request directly to the Ada County Elections Office — either by web form on the PRR page, by email to elections@adacounty.id.gov, or in person at 400 N. Benjamin Ln. The request should specify the data fields, counties (Ada-only), and intended use (non-commercial / political use certification required per Idaho Code 34-437). Ada County will typically refer requesters seeking the full statewide file to the SOS (which is cheaper and faster); county-scoped lists are filled internally.
- Turnaround
- 3 business days for Idaho residents; up to 30 days for out-of-state requesters (Ada County explicitly publishes this two-tier window on its PRR page). Faster for in-person pickup of pre-built precinct lists.
- Use restrictions
- Same as statewide: non-commercial use only (Idaho Code 34-437 + 74-120); political use permitted; mailing/telephone-list and solicitation use prohibited. Purchaser must certify use on the PRR form. Confidential electors suppressed.
Costs and rules change — confirm the current details with the office before you order. Once you have the file, we handle loading it, cutting turf, and getting your volunteers knocking.
