How to get your Idaho voter file
Idaho isn't pre-loaded, so you provide the voter file and we load it into Motion51 for you. Here's the official source — request it from the state, send us the file, and you're ready to cut turf.
- Where to request it
- Idaho Secretary of State — Elections Division[email protected] | (208) 334-2852 | 450 N. 4th Street / P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0080 | Secretary of State: Phil McGrane
- Cost
- $20 — one-time purchase of the statewide voter registration data report via the SOS order form (the EAC-confirmed published rate). $50 — annual Candidate V.A.U.L.T. subscription, election-year only (currently published for 2026). Idaho Code 34-437 caps county-level fees at 'cost of reproducing' the list, but the SOS's $20 statewide rate is the de facto standard and is the lowest published voter-file price among all 50 states.
- How to request
- Two parallel paths. (A) PUBLIC PURCHASE — Download the 'Voter Registration Data Report Order Form' PDF, fill in the requested fields and counties, sign the non-commercial-use acknowledgement, mail or email with payment to the SOS Elections Division, receive the file by secure download or USB shipment. (B) CANDIDATE V.A.U.L.T. SUBSCRIPTION — Candidates and qualified political committees register at voteidaho.gov/candidate-portal/registration/ for a 2026 Election Year Account ($50 flat for the year), then download fresh extracts on demand from the portal. Both paths pull from the same centralized statewide registration system.
- Turnaround
- 3 business days for Idaho-resident requesters; up to 30 days for out-of-state requesters. Candidate V.A.U.L.T. subscription downloads are instant after account approval (account approval itself typically takes 1–3 business days during election season). Statewide PRR-style orders are typically delivered as a CSV or fixed-width text file by secure email link or USB.
Costs and rules change — confirm the current details on the official page before you order. Each state also has use restrictions on voter data — check the official agency link above for the specifics. Once you have the file, we handle loading it, cutting turf, and getting your volunteers knocking.
