Minidoka County had an estimated 22,691 residents in July 2024, the 18th most populous of Idaho's 44 counties, up 5.1% since the 2020 census. Of those, 16,444 are 18 or older, the voting-age population, and 16.8% are 65 or older. Its 8,566 active registered voters equal about 52.1% of that voting-age population.
It covers 757 square miles of land (30 people per square mile), and 45.4% of residents live outside any incorporated city or town. The largest cities and towns are Rupert (6,343), Heyburn (3,744), Paul (1,722), Burley (part) (351) and Acequia (136). The American Community Survey (2020-2024) puts it at a median age of 34.9, a median household income of $70,377, 15.7% of adults 25 and older holding a bachelor's degree or higher and 69.2% of occupied homes owned by the people living in them.
In 2024, 7,947 votes were cast for president, about 48.3% of the voting-age population; the Democratic ticket took 17.3% and the Republican ticket 80.5%. The two-party margin moved from R+50.1 in 2008 to R+63.2 in 2024.
