Marshall County had an estimated 34,374 residents in July 2024, the 21st most populous of Mississippi's 82 counties, up 1.8% since the 2020 census. Of those, 27,313 are 18 or older, the voting-age population, and 19.8% are 65 or older. Its 24,055 active registered voters equal about 88.1% of that voting-age population.

The largest cities and towns are Holly Springs (6,472), Byhalia (1,370) and Potts Camp (398). The American Community Survey (2020-2024) puts it at a median age of 41.9, a median household income of $53,458, 14.6% of adults 25 and older holding a bachelor's degree or higher and 79.1% of occupied homes owned by the people living in them.
In 2024, 14,983 votes were cast for president, about 54.9% of the voting-age population; the Democratic ticket took 46.0% and the Republican ticket 53.2%. The two-party margin moved from D+18.2 in 2008 to R+7.2 in 2024.
