How to get your Montana voter file
Montana isn't pre-loaded, so you provide the voter file and we load it into Motion51 for you. Here's the official source — request it from the state, send us the file, and you're ready to cut turf.
- Where to request it
- Montana Secretary of State — Elections & Voter Services Division[email protected] | (406) 444-9608 | P.O. Box 202801, Helena, MT 59620-2801 | Secretary: Christi Jacobsen
- Cost
- $1,000 — one-time complete statewide voter file OR any single extract (Absentee Ballot Report, Petition Signers Report). $5,000 — 365-day subscription with unlimited downloads of any standard extract. No volume discount. Per MCA 13-2-122, fees may not exceed actual cost — these are the published rates.
- How to request
- Online self-service via the SOS Voter File application. Create an account, agree to the non-commercial-use terms, choose either a one-time extract or an annual subscription, pay by Visa/MasterCard, and download an ASCII-delimited text file. No PRR or paper form required for standard pulls.
- Turnaround
- Same-day. Account approval and first download typically within minutes of payment for one-time orders; subscription downloads are instant after activation.
Costs and rules change — confirm the current details on the official page before you order. Each state also has use restrictions on voter data — check the official agency link above for the specifics. Once you have the file, we handle loading it, cutting turf, and getting your volunteers knocking.
