Greene County had an estimated 172,347 residents in July 2024, the 18th most populous of Ohio's 88 counties, up 2.6% since the 2020 census. Of those, 137,464 are 18 or older, the voting-age population, and 19.5% are 65 or older. Its 100,828 active registered voters equal about 73.3% of that voting-age population.
It covers 414 square miles of land (417 people per square mile). The largest cities and towns are Beavercreek (48,012), Fairborn (35,105), Xenia (26,067), Bellbrook (7,532) and Cedarville (4,491). The American Community Survey (2020-2024) puts it at a median age of 38.7, a median household income of $87,309, 41.7% of adults 25 and older holding a bachelor's degree or higher and 68.0% of occupied homes owned by the people living in them.
In 2024, 90,031 votes were cast for president, about 65.5% of the voting-age population; the Democratic ticket took 39.5% and the Republican ticket 59.3%. The two-party margin moved from R+18.4 in 2008 to R+19.8 in 2024.
