Miami County had an estimated 111,950 residents in July 2024, the 25th most populous of Ohio's 88 counties, up 2.9% since the 2020 census. Of those, 86,729 are 18 or older, the voting-age population, and 20.2% are 65 or older. Its 67,003 active registered voters equal about 77.3% of that voting-age population.
It covers 407 square miles of land (275 people per square mile). The largest cities and towns are Troy (27,122), Piqua (20,940), Tipp City (10,596), Huber Heights (part) (5,789) and West Milton (4,855). The American Community Survey (2020-2024) puts it at a median age of 41.3, a median household income of $76,817, 26.8% of adults 25 and older holding a bachelor's degree or higher and 73.4% of occupied homes owned by the people living in them.
In 2024, 59,176 votes were cast for president, about 68.2% of the voting-age population; the Democratic ticket took 27.0% and the Republican ticket 72.1%. The two-party margin moved from R+28.5 in 2008 to R+45.1 in 2024.
