Candidate must provide district voter file

Get the Hillsborough County voter file.

Hillsborough County sells voter data at the county level, often the cheapest route for a local race. Here's exactly how to get it. Then Motion51 loads it in, cuts your turf, and your volunteers start knocking.

How to get the Hillsborough County voter file

Request it from the office below, send us the file, and you're ready to cut turf. Running countywide or in just part of Hillsborough County? This is the office either way.

Where to request it
N/A - Hillsborough County government does NOT maintain or sell voter rolls. Voter checklists are maintained and sold by each of the county's 31 municipalities (cities of Manchester and Nashua plus 29 towns) through their respective City/Town Clerk and Supervisors of the Checklist.Go to each municipality: e.g., Manchester City Clerk (One City Hall Plaza, Manchester NH 03101; 603-624-6455); Nashua City Clerk (229 Main St, Nashua NH 03060; 603-589-3010). Statewide clerk lookup: https://app.sos.nh.gov/clerkinformation
Cost
Varies by municipality - typically a few dollars to a few hundred dollars depending on size; large cities like Manchester and Nashua are at the high end. Down-ballot candidates may receive one free copy of their local checklist (post-Oct 2024 law).
How to request
Written or in-person request to each town/city clerk or Supervisors of the Checklist. Easier alternative: buy the statewide file from the SOS, which already includes every Hillsborough County municipality.
Turnaround
Varies by municipality - small towns may produce within days; cities like Manchester/Nashua may take 1-3 weeks.
Use restrictions
Same RSA 654:31 rules as the statewide file, and at municipal level there is no eligibility class at all: RSA 654:31, II requires the supervisors of the checklist or the city or town clerk to furnish their public checklist to any person who requests it. The only use restriction is the RSA 654:31, VI commercial-purposes ban, which RSA 654:31, I(b) defines as selling or offering for sale property or a service unrelated to an election or political campaign.
